Our Mission

Since 1975, the Mechanicsburg Museum Association has been dedicated to preserving and celebrating Mechanicsburg’s heritage through education, restored historic buildings, and engaging public programs.

As a community-driven nonprofit, we aim to foster a deeper connection to local history by offering free admission, docent-led tours, rotating exhibitions, and family-friendly events that honor the spirit and architecture of this Cumberland Valley town

Organizational History

What began as a grassroots effort to save the dilapidated 1866 Stationmaster’s House has grown into a thriving museum complex.

Over the past five decades, we have rescued and restored five landmark structures—including the 1801 Frankenberger Tavern, the 1867 CVRR Passenger Station, the 1886 Freight Station, and the 1899 Washington Street Station—transforming them into immersive historic exhibits that showcase Mechanicsburg’s role in the Pennsylvania railroad boom.
